Bir, surrounded by tea gardens and an amphitheatre of low hills, is an ideal landing ground for paragliders. Bir has Buddhist monasteries that are worth visiting. Fine Tibetan handicrafts are also produced here. Billing, up in the hills 14 km from Bir with an area of 200 km for high altitude and cross country flying, is one of the best aero sports sites in the country.

Direct buses running from Delhi (ISBT BUS STAND) to Baijnath and Baijnath to Bi r are 14 km.
Spice jet flight running from Delhi to Dharamsala and Dharamsala to Bir is 70 Km.
Nearest railway station is Pathankot and Pathankot to Bir is 120 km.
